- Identify underlying issues. Factors like: a desire for social connections, or avoidance of discomfort (checking phone to avoid awkward situations) lead to a phone dependence. Fixing these first may help break you away from your phone (Dibdin 1).

The Truth

The truth is, it is up to you and your mind to stop excessive phone usage. These strategies can help, but at the end of the day, you have to decide if these effects I have mentioned are enough to make you change your ways or not. If you want to, with mental strength and toughness, you can.
